Calling all romance fans!

Calling all romance fans!

Welcome to Love Bytes, the brand new Piatkus romance blog!

We decided to launch this blog so that romance readers and fans can get together and exchange views and ideas on their favourite authors, such as Nora Roberts, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Linda Howard, Sherrilyn Kenyon to name but a few. We’ll also be discussing various romance related topics, and this is your opportunity to let us know what you really think.

Gillian and I both work in the fiction department at Piatkus, and we will aim to post new topics at least once a week. Over the coming months, we’ll also be getting our authors involved, so look out for guest posts from your favourites. Many of our colleagues are also serious romance readers, so we’ll also be asking them for their recommendations and reviews.

Links to a selection of our romance authors are listed in the sidebar, and if you have any specific queries, just click on the blogmail link and drop us a line.

We hope that you will visit us regularly and enjoy having your say at Love Bytes!

To be in with a chance to win a copy of The Duke & I by Julia Quinn, be amongst the first 25 people to leave a comment, and tell us the title of your favourite historical romance novel.

My favourite (which I hope counts as a partial-historical!) is Lady of Hay by Barbara Erskine.

Well, some of my favourites have already been mentioned, The Portrait by Megan Chance stands out, as well as Lydia Joyce's The Veil Of Night ~ a great new author. Really enjoyed Linda Howard's Western Historical The Lady Of The West too.

Of all the writers of historical fiction Georgette Heyer still holds a special place in my heart particularly The Black Moth, Sylvester and the Toll-Gate.

I have to admit that maybe my favourite historical novel might not fall into this catergory as I loved a series of books by a lady called Diana Gabaldon who wrote about a lady who was able to pass through a stone circle that took her back in 13th century Scotland I think it was, the first of this series was called Cross Stitch and was romance, mystical and just brilliant as the lady could pass between the two worlds with the aid of some jewels.

My favourite historical novel is Far From The Madding Crowd. I love the way it explores the female concern with love and relationships. I was deeply affected by the way she was blind to a love and kindness offered in exchange for sexual attraction and excitement, which became her demise.
